"I have 20 tabs open trying to watch a movie / draw and I'm getting lag?" Uhhh..... Probably because it's not meant for all of that especially that model you have. If you had the $1,500 it manages just fine. "Again" this is a tablet not a laptop you re re!

a tablet is NOT A LAPTOP. lol. or meant to replace one. i would loathe if tablets became laptops. i need a lot of power for what I do, and when i get tired of my powerhouses, I am dyinggg to whip out a regular tablet that doesn't do much. that is what makes a tablet a tablet, and a laptop a laptop! if you are looking for a tablet to be a stand in computer, i would just get a 2 in 1 with a low grade GPU. this is why i am tablet shopping because my laptop is too heavy and i am on it allllll day. so I am choosing the iPad Pro 11 inch. :)

I can understand that there are people who do not want a lot of power and just wants to use Google docs and chrome. For them I think that $100-$200 Chromebook makes sense. But $1000 Chromebooks are just useless hardware restricted by chrome OS. Same with $1000 pixelbook, it has great hardware and can be useful if you can flash Linux into it but with chrome OS it is useless.

Sooo... did they release a day 1 update or something??? Been playing with the Pixel Slate for a couple days now... I've run into two occasions where an element didn't respond to a tap or click (both times after getting a notification for an android app install... had to clear the notification before I could interact with my app again). Other than that very minor inconvenience... I haven't run into any bugs at all. Also haven't had any problems with any of the Android apps I use either... when you minimize an android app from full screen, it does default to a 'phone-sized' rectangle... but everyone has been perfect at re-sizing, and none have had any problems w/ performance. Based on some of these reviews... I expected to be disappointed w/ the software experience, and am now finding myself pleasantly surprised. The biggest issue for me so far is getting used to the lack of a dedicated caps lock key on the keyboard lol.

Shows that Intel x86 ecosystem has the power, but we've been burnt by decades of poor integration peripherals and IO that consumer-y things do, and which ARM has become dominate in. Still Intel is the benchmark king. Intel is the problem Windows tablets have, legacy is it's strength and weakness. But overall you need to make purchase decisions on one or two key pieces of software. But there is something seriously wrong with how quickly Intel architecture takes to go from power sipping power state to full graphics transition animate power state.

Tablets should not be bigger than 8" for one. There's literally no benefit to buying a huge tablet over just using an actual laptop. Google can practically name their price when they make an 8" 16:9 Chrome OS Tablet. I actually like Chrome OS a lot, but it's more demanding now. The specs required have gone up, but the price has gone up as well. This means I will not be buying another Chrome OS device until my dream device is released or I find an offer I can't refuse on a Pixelbook.

I don't know, I need a laptop/tablet to do two things. Run ACDSee Photo Studio (NOT Lightroom, ACDSee - I'm a Lightroom refugee), and run Scrivener. That, or give me REAL GOOD clones of those two titles. Chrome OS can't do either, even with the CrossOver Beta. Apple can give me 50% of what I want, but the Surface and Surface type computers can give me 100%. Chrome OS seems . . . adequate for students and office workers, but those who fancy themselves 'creative types' will be disappointed.

$599...for this! How does Apple get called out on pricing and nobody ever calls out Google! New iPad Pro is what, 150 more? and you get a 120hz screen, iOS, FaceID, one of the best design tablets available and everything else! Look at the bezels as well! The Apple pen is a million miles better than this and its almsot the same price. How many times do you have a reviewer say "this isn't working for review" with Apple products. OK, but the lag on the OS is obviously because the 3K display is too much for the i5 hardware. Now imagine that lag multiplied x100 for the Celeron version. Also, how the hell do they get away with selling a tablet with a Celeron processor for $600 in 2018? Plus the extra $300 for the keyboard and pen, so you're at $900 FOR A CELERON CPU AND 32 GB STORAGE. This is ridiculous. Who would buy this?

Hello Dieter, You ask at the end of your Video, what would make me use a Chrome OS tablet. The short answer is Software, not hardware. The chrome OS is a device made for people that have simply given up their privacy to google. I want to actually own the device in my hands that I have (then) paid over a thousand dollars for. It is rather scary that this big company that literaly lives off of selling me to advertisers is not disclosing how their operating system works and what it does. An operating system has the job of managing the computing recources of the underlying system, not spy on me. And when that changes back to what it once was (and probably will never return to) ill think of getting a chome os laptop, even if some of the functionality offered is rather fantastic.

Complicated?! What's complicated about five configurations? Granted, four processor options is overkill. Who the hell would want/need an i7 in this product? And the $100 price increase for the 32 > 64GB is INSANE! That's practically a $0 cost increase! At the MOST, $10.

Let's see here: it can access all the Play Store apps, not all of them support the form factor. The desktop experience is better than the iPad, but worse than just using a regular laptop, and price point is too expensive to justify what is on offer. It's like a time capsule that someone dug up from the future, expect the future is now and it's already outdated.
