Fingerprint reader in ChromeOS. Will the PAYI My Lockey USB reader (goo.gl/eMP1Wg) ChromeOS OS see? I have two older Chrome OS users (Chrome Asus, CloudReady), for whom the password is not perfectly comfortable. Yes, the reader is much easier to log in.

Hey. After the last update of the system from version 60 to 61 (change the square avatar to round), ChromeOS stopped seeing the USB camera (Asus Chromebit C10 + Logitech QuickCam Version Pro for Mac and Samsung i3 + Logitech Webcam Pro 9000). Exactly the camera is visible, the camera camera application activates, but when it closes, the communicator (Hangouts, Web Skype, etc.) makes the system lose contact with the camera. The workaround is to leave the application running, a camera that supports camera contact with the OS. But the system did not have to use this bypass. On a device with a built-in camera (Samsung Chromebook 2) this problem does not occur. I've already submitted a form from the system. Has anyone else encountered this? Will it be resolved by the update?

Great job with the review and news you guys are putting together. I would love to see some reviews of USB-C Docks that will provide port expansion and also provide chromebook charging power. Models such as the Kensington SD4600P. Also would like you to deep dive into the challenges of setting up a Chromebook on a G-Suite account to use Android apps.

Since you guys seem to have the ear of Google (Chrome team, etc) could you do me (basically everybody) a favor and see if they could add the following to the Google Home devices... - Ability to adjust the Treble and Bass - When listening to music this thing is very bass'y (sp) - When asking it "Tell me about my day" to focus more on location-based news, as I am in Toronto, Canada hearing only about US news stories is not always what I want to hear about (play more local content) ... Thanks .. love the site!!!

You can run Office 365 on Chromebooks (which includes all your mentioned apps) .. but obviously not pure Windows applications. As Android Apps become more Chromebook certified you will be able to run almost every app your Android phone runs on certified Chromebooks. This will include MS Office apps that run on your Android phone today. Watch this Setting up Android apps on your Asus C302.. barbandersonart.com/v-video-R9u9qjtqvPo.html

I'm enjoying your reviews of Samsung Chromebook Plus vs Pro. I think I have found another major difference besides processor. The swap memory on the Plus is a bit less than 4gb. For the Pro I expect it to be a bit less than 6gb, based on reading about how swap is allocated differently on Intel vs Arm. Can you check the swap size on the Pro and let us know? If the Pro has more swap, that would help explain why it can run more tabs.

First off, great product reviews. I just bought the Toshiba Chromebook 2 2015 edition and i am having a possible issue. When i touch the track pad it has a very slight click noise. This is not me clicking it in, it is just making a little noise when i touch it to scroll and such. Is this normal? Is it something you think i should worry about and exchange it?

If it bugs you, I'd exchange it. The bouncy trackpad plagues Chromebooks from time to time.

Thank you very much for all your detailed video reviews. I am struggling between the 2015 Toshiba CB2 and the new Dell CB 13 I have the 2014 Toshiba CB2 but struggle with the performance, but I love the display. It is almost as good as my 15" MacBook Retina display. I prefer glossy over matte and would like to get your thoughts on the differences between the Toshiba and Dell's IPS display. Also, the GPU clock speed of the 3215U in the Toshiba is 3x faster than the 3205U in the Dell. Do you see a real world difference in speed between the two? Would this warrant move up to the i3 in the Dell? If you had the money would you just go for the new Google Pixel?

I don't have both devices to compare, but I think both perform admirably. I wouldn't be too concerned with the i3 over the Celeron, personally.

I went thru 2 laptops and this 3rd laptop I got the Sony Vaio has given me a lot of problems. I'm saving to get a new computer. Would the HP 14" Chromebook work for online games? I mostly play Wartune and I have seen someone on youtube play it on their Chromebook. I like to surf the web, Facebook, DE-film and online games. I was watching that review on the HP and that's looks good.

Great job with your reviews. I bought the C720 (2995, 2gb, non-touch) when it first came out and loved keeping it around the house to throw up youtube videos, check email, and other basic shenanigans. I ended up giving it to my father who needed a new laptop, but needed something simple that would be difficult for him to break/infect (he's the typical old-person stereotype that will click on anything and everything). I bought the HP 11 as my replacement chromebook and returned it within the first week of owning it, as battery life and processing power for media-heavy sites trumped my love of its aesthetic and design features that you mentioned in your reviews. I'm very anxious to get a new replacement chromebook for around the house and enjoy watching your reviews. I'm hoping you'll have something for the new C720 with the i3 processor or maybe the C300 EDU model with the 4GB of RAM up on your channel, as those appear to be the chromebooks of the immediate future and I would love to buy one of those with your input.

Just bought a new Toshiba Chromebook. Loved it but had to return to Amazon for two reasons: 1. The touch pad cursor was erratic and would jump to other places in a document when I was typing. I was able to fix the problem by disabling the tap to click feature but this shouldn't happen on a new unit. It seems to be a common problem on touch pads 2. I was never able to get my home pages to load on start up. Every time I selected web pages to load on start up I'd always get a search tab with the Google search bar. It never happens on my W8 based chrome browser I'd love to get a replacement but was wondering if you've experienced any of these issues during your review of the unit or if anyone else has had a similar problem

Alright, HP Chromebook 14 or Acer Chromebook c720? I'll be using it for papers, netflix, general web browsing (5-8 tabs open on two separate windows placed next to each other). Main drawbacks of the Acer: even though it's great for transport it has a smaller screen and main drawbacks of the HP: weight and size might not be great for transport. Although they have the same resolution on screens, is there a substantial difference in viewing? I know I need a Chromebook, I just can't decide between the two so I'd love your opinion! Thanks!

Hey Robby. My name is Kevin. Thanks for you thorough reviews. They are really helpful. I am hoping you can give me your opinion about something. So I am going to buy a chromebook for school. You are selling me on the HP model, although, I am leaning towards the samsung series three because of the fact that I have an HP g6, and want something to take notes and occasionally type papers. I like how the samsung does not have a fan. Thats pretty much it. My g6 is getting older and the fan likes to vent (no pun intended) and it gets annoying listening to it. On the other hand, I think that if I start using the cloud for my school work, then getting something that will be more than a dinky 11.6 would be nice. Then again, the weight aspect as you said is something to think about...anyways, this post is getting too long, but if you have any feedback, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

+Kevin Bley The fans on all the CBs with fans are all very, very quiet. That being said, the newer Bay Trail devices would be a much better fit if fanless design is a must.

Hello Rob, I have been watching all your videos, great job!. keep on doing this because you are more detailed than most of the reviewers I have seen on youtube. I just wanted to ask you a question, I am a front end web developer. As you are as well from my understanding and I just wanted to know if you have had any issues of lag or bottle necking when jumping from Ubuntu and chrome. I am not sure if I should get the HP 14 or wait for something a little more powerful to come out. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. I basically wanted to run Sublime Text in ubuntu with wine running Photoshop (only if I have to of course) do you think that this can handle that type of stress on the cpu? Thanks again!

I don't run anything in Wine, but I keep Filezilla and Inkscape open with 5-8 tabs open in Chrome OS, along with Google Play music, Keep, and the File Manager without issue. The processor is quite capable. Where the HP 14 really shines, IMHO, is the 4GB of RAM. For resource-intensive activities, it does surprisingly well!
